The NRG is inherently fast. With 16 m/s speeds at medium wing loading it stands on equal grounds with canopies from the next higher class. Nevertheless, it can also be flown slow.
In turns, it is moderately sporty. The canopy does not exhibit premature rotation, while maintaining the jumper in the Center of Gravity. This also applies during a surge following deep brakes: Undesired canopy overshoot and jumper whip are minimised by a balanced distribution of forces in the canopy.
A sink rate below 6 m/s and an average dive path following front riser action ensure a safe learning factor (e.g. as part of canopy flight training), while providing, in the hands of an experienced jumper, long swoops at maximum wing load for this class of canopy. Flare is pronounced over the entire control range. The NRG has an appreciable slow flight behaviour in deep brakes. Toggle and front riser pressure are slightly higher than found on previous Paratec canopies while remaining quite pleasant and direct. Back riser flares are possible without any problems.
